xq survey

How to determine whether employees indeed concentrate on the implementation of targets which bring benefits to the organization and contribute to its development?
How can leaders and managers assess if their organizations are ready for achievement of the most important objectives?
How can the level of implementation of the organization’s most important objectives be measured?

What does xQ measure? xQ informs about the extent in which isolated factors of execution (Principles of Execution) characterize individual groups of employees (the entire organization, a department, a group).
  The problem of contemporary organisations is fulfilment of targets, strategies and selected solutions. Ram Charan and Larry Bossidy, dealing with this subject in their book entitled Execution - The Discipline of Getting Things Done, emphasise the fact that implementation problems are most neglected issues in the contemporary world of business. It is worth considering these issues and finding answers to the questions above.

In order to determine current potential of an organisation with respect to implementation of most important target, FranklinCovey prepared a managerial tool which is called Execution Quotient Survey or xQ Process (xQ – implementation quotient, analogously to IQ – intelligence quotient and EQ – emotional intelligence quotient).

On the basis of research conducted together with McKinsey Consulting, six factors (Principles of Execution) have been singled out, which decide about implementation of targets.

Results of measurements made with the use of this tool indicate how strongly the employees focus on organisation targets and the degree in which they implement them.

What is gained by xQ Survey?
By means of indicating activities influencing successes or failures within the scope of implementation of organisation targets, xQ Survey assists the organisation leaders in maintaining result-oriented approach in management:
  • Recognition of causes preventing the organisations from obtaining most important objectives;
  • etermination of areas in which acceleration and concentration of resources will bring measurable results with respect to implementation of company targets;
  • Comparison of the obtained results with best xQ results in the industry.

Implementation factors
  • Understanding - Are the employees familiar with most important company targets?
  • Involvement - Do the employees care about implementation of company targets?
  • Conversion into activities - Do the employees know how to meet crucial company targets?
  • Potential -Does the organisation help or make the fulfilment of targets difficult for the employees?
  • Synergy - Do the employees and teams work together in order to meet crucial company targets?
  • Responsibility - Do the employees assume responsibility for their obligations?
